Dubuque County will have a fairly new board of Supervisors after November

Democrat Wayne Demmer changed his mind about running for reelection this year;

Dubuque County Supervisor Wayne Demmer says he has withdrawn his bid to seek re-election in November.

Demmer has been a member of the board since 2004.

Earlier this week he filed papers to seek re-election in November, but said he withdrew those papers on Thursday.

Demmer told TV-9 he doesn't want to be a career politician. He also added his wife asked him to slow down.

Hopefully we'll get another good Democrat to run for his seat and not some idiot who is opposed to any sort of government whatsoever.
