Police seek to ID person who stole donation jar from Dubuque business

Ugh. Some asshole made off with a donation jar from a Dubuque business

A Dubuque police report said Beecher's Ice Cream, 1691 Asbury Road, reported the theft of a donation jar with $300 inside between 5:20 and 5:24 p.m. Monday. The donations were being collected to help Jake Hesselman, of Dubuque, purchase a handicapped-adapted vehicle.

Lt. Scott Baxter said a man went into the store and grabbed the jar off of the counter. He is described as tall, thin, white and likely in his early 20s. He was wearing a green T-shirt and dark-colored cap at the time of the theft.

The man might be associated with a gold or tan Chevrolet Impala from the late 1990s or early 2000s, or a car with a similar make or model.

Baxter said a woman with the man also is considered a suspect. She is described as white with dark hair. She was wearing a dark red shirt with narrow black stripes and dark pants at the time of the theft.

The PD has asked for assistance in identifying said asshole and his female friend.
