15 detasselers hospitalized after being exposed to herbicide

http://www.kcrg.com/content/news/15-detasselers-hospitalized-after-being-exposed-to-herbicide-386956511.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_KCRG-TV9

There was also an article about this in the Marshalltown Times-Republican (but I can't link to that). In neither of these articles does it say which herbicide was the culprit. I find this quite worrisome - if it has that bad an effect on agricultural workers, how does it affect those of us who ingest this herbicide via the food chain?

Side note - isn't this kind of early for detasseling? It's been ten years since i had a kid who detasseled, and it seems to me that was later in July, early August.

If there's ever going to be a law prohibiting these pesticides, better do it before TPP passes. The imminent Bayer-Montsanto
merger makes these lawsuits certain, won't even need to invert to use ISDS.
