Iowa Democrats announce 7 new offices, now have 24 statewide
Hillary Clintons presidential campaign and the Iowa Democratic Party announced the opening of seven new campaign offices Monday, increasing their physical presence to 24 locations across the state.
The new offices will be located in Clinton, Des Moines, Fort Dodge, Ottumwa, Mason City, Waterloo and Waukee, giving the campaigns a heavier presence in central and northern Iowa.
The coordinated Democratic campaigns previously announced offices are spread across the state, but lie heavily in eastern Iowa which is seen as the key battleground between Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump and especially the states northeast corner, where Democrat Monica Vernon is challenging incumbent GOP U.S. Rep. Rod Blum.
Those offices are located in Ames, Burlington, Cedar Rapids, Charles City, Council Bluffs, Davenport, Decorah, Dubuque, Elkader, Fort Madison, Marshalltown, Maquoketa, Marion, Muscatine, Oelwein, Osage and Sioux City.
