I suspect Iowa City is laid to ruins by now and drunk dry.
But oh was that fun.

I used to have to work with a bunch of obnoxious graduates of THE Ohio STATE University. What i wouldn't give to hear them crying right now.

delicious!
Now let's beat Wisconsin, Purdue and especially Nebraska and pick up a nice bowl.

The sportscasters in Omaha were pretty grim about their loss today.

Of course they only mentioned Iowa's win in passing. Something about Nebraska needs to get their shit together before they face off with Iowa, who apparently played a good game against Ohio State.

When Osborne left they thought they would always win 11 or 12 a year and be in the national title hunt.
If I recall they hired Frank Solich and he was pretty much an extension of Osborne but maybe didn't win quite as much - maybe ony 9 or 10 games a year.

That wasn't good enough. They thought they could find another savior out there and they let Solich go. They then proceeded to find out what most football programs find out - there is a lot more middle of the road coaches out there than there are exceptional coaches.

that plus I think they have found the Big Ten a bit harder across the board than the Big Twelve.

They never should have let Solich go.

Edit to add - whenever I hear the boo birds come out at Iowa and those that talk of getting rid of Ferentz and finding that next savior, I just shudder - I lived through Jerry Burns, Ray Nagel, Frank Lauterber and Bob Cummings. Ferentz may not win every game, but his teams are usually very competitive with many more high spots than low spots.

Look at what Nebraska and Texas and so many other big name schools have learned.
