As stated in the Waterloo Courier's article about Abby Finkenauer's primary win, Blum stated
I am looking forward to a respectful race in which we can discuss the issues during 12 debates throughout the 1st District, he said.
Twelve debates, when he's not appeared before his constituents in how many (18?) months? Yeah, I'm pretty sure we won't see Runaway Rod face a strong candidate like Finkenauer that many times. Republicans always suck on the issues, and they know it. Blum especially seems to live in the conservative bubble, and hates the reality that he has plenty of non-conservative constituents. My prediction is two debates, with very tightly screened questions and audiences.

(10,437 posts)Finkenauer should lay down the requirements they are all townhall settings with people asking questions that are not prescreened...have the people selected by lottery from the audience. Nothing makes a republican squirm more than facing a crowd of reall people

(18,007 posts)in a paternalistic misogynistic fashion. My hope is that we can get a large percentage of the University of Northern Iowa students out to vote. She is a very appealing candidate for younger voters.
I would fire walk to vote that joker out.

(1,729 posts)Point out his lack of accessibility, closed town halls, etc.
Drive home the point that he has abandoned the people of the 1st CD.
Run ads promoting the tour..."Just who IS Rod Blum?"
Tour many towns in the 1st CD with a Rob Blum impersonator/stand-in.
Make some WAVES...blue ones.
