From a Texan living in Germany: please don't forget my friend, Rob Sand on Tuesday

Though I've never even set foot in Iowa, a friend of mine, Rob Sand, is running for State Auditor in Iowa. State Auditor in Iowa is a far bigger deal than it is in many other states, especially less rural ones. Plus: Rob, if successful (or even if not) is a perfect candidate for Congress or Governor down the line (look out, Joni Ernst). He's only in his mid-thirties (looks half that), and is the perfect midwestern Democrat. Down to earth, straightforward, and wants to do good things for his people and his state. I put him in touch with the Dean brothers (Jim and Howard), so he will have some national allies in his political career. If you can, please remember to vote for Rob (and if you already voted, I hope you did!).

Our current auditor is pretty much of a joke. Unfortunately most Iowans don't follow lower level elected offices, so I fear many will revert to party at that level.

However his Opponent Mary Mossiman has been in the news for her failure to produce her much hyped assessment of the privatized Medicaid system. She promised to assess in late spring but we have seen nothing. The system is fairly openly hemorrhaging money with quality of care way down.

We are hoping this glaring failure will do her in.
