Denison, an Iowa town of 8,300 people, places three top employees on leave
Three of Denisons highest-ranking city employees were placed on paid administrative leave this week for reasons city officials have declined to make public.
City Manager Terry Crawford, City Clerk Lisa Koch and Fire Chief Cory Snowgren were placed on leave Tuesday by Mayor Jared Beymer.
Denison's city council will hold a special meeting Friday at 7:30 a.m. to decide whether to hire the BrownWinick law firm of Des Moines as part of an investigation into the matter, according to an official notice. If hired, the firm will charge the city between $250 to $300 an hour, according to a document obtained Thursday by The Register.
Deputy City Clerk Terra Sell on Thursday confirmed the three were placed on administrative leave. Sell said she was unable to comment on any specifics about the issue.
