Reynolds could restore felon voting rights today

From an email from ICCI:

Restoring voting rights: Iowa doesn't need to wait four years to amend our constitution to restore rights and dignity to thousands of returning citizens. Reynolds can restore their vote with an executive order, just like Branstad took them away on his first day in office back in 2011. This is political posturing on her part, leaving these Iowans hanging until after the 2022 elections. And, she needs to squash Iowa's new Voter ID laws.

Reynolds could restore the voting rights today, then push for an amendment to the constitution to make it permanent.

My suspicion is that this was done for show and the Republicans in the legislature will let it disappear in the middle of the session, never to be heard from again.

Watching I thought about damn time and then she Charley Brown and Lucy'ed it to the amendment process.

Local news makes her sound all progressive and fair. Weasel words at their finest gobbled up by media.
