Judge strikes down fetal heartbeat law, ruling it unconstitutional

This is good news - I guess, who knows how much legal wrangling lies ahead, or how much it will cost Iowa taxpayers

When Governor Reynolds signed this into law in May, besides the horrible erosion of women's privacy and right to control their own bodies, one of my concerns was the effect this would have on the University of Iowa's training of obstetricians and gynecologists. Ob-gyns need to know how to perform an abortion, even if they never do, and that training would not be available at the U of I.

But it seems like they didn't even put up much of a fight to defend their stupid law. I'm cautiously optimistic any appeal will go nowhere.
