Shannon is disappointed her pet project isn't being appealed

Shannon is disappointed that Kimmie isn't going to appeal the fetal heartbeat law getting struck down.

Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds’ Monday announcement that she would not appeal a court decision striking down Iowa’s fetal heartbeat law left Iowa Rep. Shannon Lundgren, R-Peosta, disappointed.

Lundgren, however, said she is not discouraged.

“Obviously, I’m disappointed,” she said. “We didn’t fight a battle to lose now. But I actually think we’ve made a lot of progress.”

“We turn around and focus on the constitutional amendment,” Lundgren said. “I think it would be a disservice for us not to push that through. Then there’s a risk, of course, that the voters will vote that down.”

Ugh. Leave the Constitution alone.
