Related: About this forum"Keep Iowa Nice - Call Ice" flyers have showed up in Johnson County
UghThe disappointment comes nearly one week after a series of flyers that said: "Keep Iowa Nice, Call ICE," referring to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, appeared on message boards and kiosks in the downtown area of Iowa City.
"There's no place for that behavior," said Det. Sgt. Brad Kunkel. Despite the flyers technically not qualifying as a crime, Det. Sgt. Kunkel said he was still concerned with the potential repercussions- especially when it comes to an immigrant reporting, or a being a victim of, a crime.
Det. Sgt. Kunkel explained from a law enforcement standpoint, even if it was a simple question someone wanted to answered by the sheriff's office, they would not want anyone of any background to hesitate to reach out to their local law enforcement agencies.

(9,535 posts)That would be appropriate if the xenophobes and racialist get their way. I dont know the name of the tune or the band that performed it, but some of the lyrics were: ...This place / Aint nothin/ But a ghost town...
Remember when Iowa once enjoyed a rep as a decent place with good people and a good reputation? Another trade-off in the Age of Trump.

(63,152 posts)Iowa just ain't Iowa anymore. I put the onus on Branstad 2. Here picked up on the racism and xenophbia afoot in the country to use to become governor for life. I look at Branny as the worst thing ever to happen to Iowa. And he left us with a real piece of work as governor.
