Iowa City church defaced by racial vandalism

This happened last weekend

People attending an Iowa City church Sunday morning discovered spray-painted swastikas, bible verses and obscene language on the church's exterior.

"I think the person that did this was basically a coward," said Tony Burtch. "I can't say that enough."

The church has since added cameras to watch over people to address the lingering fear and to catch anyone who might be up to no to good.

The person or people who did it would be facing, at the least, criminal mischief for defacing the property. If the motivation was to scare members of a certain religion or other group, it could be a hate crime. Gee, ya think? That's some ace reporting there KCRG.

Gonna jump out on a limb here and guess these are Orange Fornicate/Grassley/King/Ernst/Reynolds supporters.

If this had happened at my church and interviewed me they wouldn't be able to air the interview. 47of74 Mar 2019 #2

I've never understood it. Seems to serve no purpose (except to inflame.)

I'd call them far, far worse than cowards. I'd launch in to a whole tirade about the vandal's parentage, reproductive proclivities, and ultimate destination in not exactly family friendly language either.
