Where do I look? Ernst may have been great in the National Guard but she is a United States Senator now. Her rise to Senate GOP Leadership was a reward for staying on script and supporting the destruction of every thing good in the United States.

(63,153 posts)I was hoping that by now there would be at least one group or person focusing on her BS like her idiotic "Make 'em squeal" or her recent parental leave proposal. As you said *crickets*
I am hopeful that after the legislative session, maybe one of our senators or representatives may step forward. Unless your name is Tom Vilsack, though, you will have a name recognition problem around the state. Vilsack has said no already.
Liz Mathis of Cedar Rapids comes to mind first for me. She has some name recognition and is good in front of cameras.
Robb Hogg made a run in 2016 before losing to Patty Judge, so he also has some name recognition. Since his run he has been touring the state and keeping the emails flowing. To me that suggests a run.
Dailykos suggested Rob Sand as the only Democratic statewide elected official would be a fit. People I spoke to said Sand would probably stay where he is at.
One person suggested JD Scholten after his close run at Steve King, but he seems focused on taking King out in 2020.
Meanwhile Iowa media acts like Joni lapdogs, IMHO
Joni's approach to her job seems to be to do little and please the Kochs and the Trump right.

(5,853 posts)If you were to use her proposed benefit and die before retirement does Joni plan bill your estate? I very much like Rob Sand making Iowa GOP choke on their accounting practices. I know it's early but the GOP clawing grasping stealing bunch of misfits are eating our foundations while we are fretting over Beto and Bernie

Joni's proposal was the Ivanka plan from about 6 months ago that was laughed off the airwaves.
And right you are - another round of voter suppression, this time aimed directly at Iowa City and Ames.
