I'm not celebrating King's loss.

IMHO, he was the easier candidate to beat. All the disaffected repubs and independents who were pissed at King will happily pull the lever for Feenstra. Plus the Ia GOP will now move mountains to keep the 4th district. Feenstra just said, "we must make sure this seat doesn't land in the hands of Nancy Pelosi and her liberal allies in Congress." That shit is going to sell well up there. Ugh.

I think Scholten's job just got a lot harder.

On the plus side, I'm feeling pretty good about kicking Joni's ass.

Time for another gin and tonic and call it a night.

Could a Democrat really win there? I don’t think so. If Scholten actually could somehow win, it would probably only be for one term.

BUT - there is a lot of dissatisfaction with Trump. Every race will include some amount of a referendum on Trump. With the virus & the chinese tariffs, farmers and rural areas have taken it in the shorts. Remember how Trump policy allowed oil companies to quit using ethanol? That bankrupted some also

Rural hospitals are in tough shape due to Trump policies.

All that to say it will be tough, but it is soable.

I know a few RWers up there that are not happy with their party now. I don't expect them to vote for JD, but hopefully they will be dissatisfied enough to just stay home while we overwhelm the voting booth.
