Hello fellow Kansans!

How are you all holding up? Not so good here is it.

Not sure how this is all going to turn out but I think it is a good guess that we are not going to like it much.

Keep working, maybe we can head off some of the worst of it.

I just really wanted to be first on this forum

But I do have a question...

I am travelling west from on I-70 from St. Louis to Denver, and it is an 18 hour drive nonstop.

I want to stop somewhere in Kansas, but stay close to the highway and find a decent motel w/ free breakfast or bed & breakfast. Any suggestions will be welcome.

I'm considering the following stops: Kansas City, Lawrence, Topeka and Salina. Hays is a maybe but it's in the easternmost point of KS...

Thanks for all your help with the information you can give me...

Kansas is not a desolate wasteland. In fact, eastern Colorado is more desolate than Kansas. So be sure and stop before you get to the Colorado border.

I grew up near eastern Colorado.

The only city in eastern Colorado before Denver worth looking at is Burlington, and it's because it has a carousel. A old fashioned carousel.
