The fact that it's even competitive is very telling.

Part of the evidence for a blue wave is that almost all of the battlegrounds are in red states and districts, including some surprising locations like Kansas.

Both my parents said no way. Even in the 1970’s they thought Kansas was a backwards state. Being a Californian I realize they were correct in their thinking at the time.

born in Wichita.

It wasn't that bad then... very middle of the road, leaning to "let them be" conservative. Eisenhower conservative.

Yes, there were the some in the John Birch society... but remember that the John Birch society actually got it's start in California.

I never heard anyone say a racist thing there... except my grandmother who was actually from Georgia and was born not that long after the civil war.

That said... it starting changing when I was still living there in the 1980s... so I moved out in 1983.

Reagan sure f'd up a lot of things, sort of a foreshadowing of Trump in that regard.

The transformation from middle of the road, common sense republican
to hateful, finger pointing donnybots came about...imho...from the
rightwinger media spew...the limbaughs, the hennesys, and all the other
low rent bastards that broadcast lies and innuendo.

they see one, and I'm sure (I haven't talking to any of them recently) they see one now w/ Kobach.

I encourage my friends in KS to support Kelly, and not koback, who will take everything away from you that he can get away w/. Remember the crap he ran into in Wash DC? He didn't get very far w/ anything there and I don't see him doing anything very good for KS either.

To my friends in Hays KS, Pittsburg, KS, Lawrence, KS, KCKS, Wichita, KS, Topeka, KS...Go Jayhawks!!

Think he’s kind of full of himself and doesn’t care that he is taking votes away from the Democrat. He ran for Pat Roberts Senate seat in 2012 I believe and we know how that went.
