General election candidates set for cities across Christian County: Mayor, school board and more

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Weeks after Christian County held its primary election, the nonpartisan candidates are set for the Nov. 3 general election. This upcoming election includes multiple candidates for mayor in Hopkinsville and Oak Grove.

In other areas of the county, Pembroke, Crofton and Lafayette mayoral candidates run unopposed, bringing a change of leadership in some cases. Also on the ballot will be city council/commissioner seats for each city as well as two school board positions.

The Christian County Clerks Office says June 2 at 4 p.m. is the last time to file any petition, certificate, statement, or nomination papers for candidates. Following this deadline, on June 4 at 2 p.m. the Christian County Board of Elections will draw for ballot positioning to determine the order in which candidates will appear on the November ballot. The deadline for write-in candidates is August.

Christian County Now has compiled a list of local candidates based on filings with the county clerks office that voters can expect for their perspective cities.
