Judge dismisses former president's claims against Louisiana College
A judge has dismissed Joe Aguillard's claims of wrongful termination and ordered him to pay Louisiana College more than $17,000.
The former president of the private Baptist school in Pineville had sued claiming breach of contract, wrongful termination and detrimental reliance, all of which were dismissed in a judgment filed Oct. 13 in the 9th Judicial District Court in Alexandria.
His claims for attorney's fees also were denied, and Aguillard owes the college $17,877.77 to cover its arbitration expenses, according to the judgment signed by Judge Monique Rauls.
Aguillard, who led the college from 2005 to 2014, filed a petition for damages in September 2016 through Alexandria attorney Koby D. Boyett against the school, its current President Rick Brewer, a private investigator and an insurance underwriting company.
