David Vitter's latest television ad features his wife Wendy
U.S. Sen. David Vitter's newest television advertisement talks up his latest endorsement in the Louisiana governor's race -- the one coming from his wife, Wendy.
In the commercial, Wendy Vitter steers clear of Vitters' personal life. The ad features several shots of their home and children, but his wife talks most about his record as a state legislator and member of Congress.
"David has refused to take his Congressional pension. That's right; he returned it to the taxpayers. How many politicians do you know willing to do that?" Wendy Vitter says toward the end of the ad.
It's thought that Vitter might be struggling with women in the election because of his prostitution scandal in 2007. A public appeal from Wendy Vitter is not only a way to attract female voters to his campaign, but also to emphasize that his family has forgiven him for past indiscretions.
