Chellie Pingree should stay put. We need her in the US House.

Chellie Pingree would make a great US Senator, but we all know the risk of splitting the moderate to progressive vote and throwing the election to a right winger like Summers. The Rs are good at keeping their base in line, and we can not afford allowing the Senate seat to go to a Republican even worse than Snowe. As we saw in 2010 in the governors race being split and tossing it to LeBuffoon, with Chellie in the Senate race that could very well happen again. Chellie would be sure to hold her current seat. Like Mike Michaud, she should do just that. We can not afford a repeat of 2010 and the electoral split that allowed LeBuffoon to become governor. Angus King endorsed Kerry and Obama. He is formerly a registered Dem and more progressive than Snowe. He would surely caucus with the Dems. He is someone most Dems can easily live with, even support. I'm for Chellie doing like Mike and staying put. I know, it is a tough one. Being from the 2nd Congressional District I know the landscape. We can't allow the Rs to win that seat, and we need to think big picture and what is best for the whole state. I would love to see Chellie as a US Senator, but splitting the vote and throwing it to an R is something we just can not risk. She should be advised to stay put and hold her House seat.

"Let me have the seat or I'll give it to the Republicans"

I am sick to death of these narcissists like Cutler and King.

Your hyperbolic mini-rant in just that. You need to understand the state of Maine and its politics. I guess you missed what happened in the 2010 election. I guess you don't understand the Maine electorate. I guess you would be happy with zero-practicality purity rather than what is actually doable. If was Chellie vs. and R one on one, she'd probably win. With King in, she simply can not. What do you want? To split the vote and get someone as bad as LePuke? Someone like that asshat Summers? Because that could likely happen. There is the world of purity, and there is the world of reality. I choose the latter. Chellie Pingree would lose. And underneath your purist ideology, you know that just as well as I do.
