My car isn't a lump in the snow.

Got power and propane emergency heater going.

I'm pretty sure I'm better off than a lot.

Will take people in if needed.

Does the emergency heater depend on electricity to run the thermostat?

Power was out for 10 days. We had oil in the tank but the thermostat wouldn't turn the furnace on because there was no electricity to send the "call" to the furnace

We had hot water all the time, because it was powered by gas and did not require a thermostat. It is continuously, "on" and running.

In any case, wishing you comfort.

I had a condo in Wells Beach, off of Rt.1. B before that, we had a house on a pond in Acton. I miss Maine. Portland was the best up to the '90's when the harbor and Front street became gentrified. In the 70's, there were small stores with unusual stuff. Inexpensive movies and an art movie house.

In the 90's, --- Starbucks and The Gap and so forth. I can walk downtown to my local N.J. village to get a Starbucks or Dunkin' D. I don't need to goo to Maine for it.

I am originally from Maine. I check the Obits in the Press Herald every day to see if I know anyone LOL! I also tend to check the news if anything big is going on when the sometimes make their online paper free for a while.

arrangements for him, my Mother and myself to drive up to Skowhegan on a Sunday to take Margaret Chase Smith out for lunch. A good friend of the family was her Executive Assistance for years (knew her well enough for Senator Smith and her military aide/friend to join them on a family vacation to Norway). It was an interesting afternoon, hearing her talk about her years in office. She opened up her library and I got a personal tour.

What a lot of people don't know is that the Declaration of Conscience Speech that she delivered against McCarthy was not written by her or anybody in her office. Another Senator wrote it and asked for her to deliver it on the floor. He felt that it was so important that he told her that she could claim full credit for the speech. I think that my parents heard that story from our family friend.

We got pounded with snow here too, about 11 to 12 inches. First big storm this year.

Heat working, electricity still on, loaded up with provisions, main roads cleared of snow, driveway and car buried. Will dig out little by little.

jpak pace your self don't over do it cleaning up the snow. Get help if possible. Stay warm.

I’m so glad I cleared off the vehicle half way through storm. About a 3-foot pile of snow at the end of the driveway. Our road crew does such a good job. I appreciate their efforts. Beautiful sunny day now, time to pick up the shovel and dig out. I take it much slower than I used to thanks to old age, but I’m grateful I can still help myself.

Good luck digging out, everyone!

Got a 10pm robocall from local police telling us to stay off the roads due to icing.
The big pines all are ice-dipped, so to speak.
We escaped the worst for sure. I am regretting that I didn't get the snow shoveled before the light rain. Got started and gave up. Snow slush mix was like wet cement.
Hopefully the March sun 🌞 will help.

Stay well and shovel prudently.
Glad you got supplies.
Hope those big ol' Maine rivers don't rise up too much...
And the clean-up winds out of the N/NW
don't start until the ice is off the trees.
