Maryland becomes first state to reimburse Planned Parenthood clinics if Congress cuts funding.

'Fifteen bills became law in Maryland on Thursday without Gov. Larry Hogan’s signature, including a measure that makes Maryland the first state in the country that has agreed to reimburse Planned Parenthood clinics for its services if Congress defunds the organization and another that provides state funds to the Attorney General’s Office to sue the Trump administration.

Hogan (R) had until midnight Wednesday to decide whether to sign or veto the bills that were sent to his desk last week.

Amelia Chasse, a spokeswoman for Hogan, would not comment on why the governor allowed the bills to move forward without his signature.

The General Assembly sent 27 bills to Hogan’s desk last week, giving itself enough time to override any veto before the 90-day session ends on Monday.'>>>
