Women's march in Annapolis becomes a march on the polls

A year after thousands of women marched in Annapolis following the inauguration of Donald Trump as president, Saturday’s anniversary march was a sign that the passion for change has not cooled.

The turnout was will be one of the largest rallies this year centered on Lawyer’s Mall, perhaps Maryland’s highest-profile soapbox.

The speakers were full of strong words on issues they believe center on Washington: bias, racism, reproductive justice, climate change, abuse of people with intellectual disabilities and LGBT rights.

Meanwhile, Republicans and Democrats at the U.S. Capitol 26 miles away continued to show just how dysfunctional our national government has become, unable to work out compromises on important issues without a government shutdown.
