The Calvert County Department of Public Safety reminds citizens to prepare

for inclement weather beginning tonight, Thursday, Sept. 5 through Saturday, Sept. 7 resulting from the track of Hurricane Dorian. Winds will average 20 to 25 mph beginning this evening and last through Friday afternoon, with the potential for power outages, downed trees and other debris. During this time, Calvert County could receive up to one half inch of precipitation.

The storm is expected to create higher than normal tides, leading to minor to moderate flooding along low-lying areas of the county. Citizens are reminded to find alternate routes if travel routes are blocked by standing water.
