'Use the doses or they will be redirected': Gov. Hogan issues vaccine distribution orders.
Maryland Governor Larry Hogan outlined the state's vaccine distribution efforts Tuesday afternoon, including issuing executive orders to ensure hospitals are providing the state with up-to-date information to confront issues and deploying special teams with the National Guard to help with distribution efforts.
Hogan announced that in total, 270,150, or 98.7 percent, of the vaccine doses have been allocated, distributed and deployed in the state. This is out of the 273, 875 that has been provided to Maryland.
Out of the vaccine destinations, Hogan says 59.5% of the doses have been distributed to hospitals, 12.8% have been distributed to local health departments, 22.4% have been in federal partnership with CVS and Walgreens, and 5.3% have been distributed to "other."
The governor also says 34.3% of doses distributed to hospitals have been administered.
