PM Update: Remaining very warm through Thursday while spotty showers and storms enter forecast.

It felt like summer out there today. Highs soared into record territory in the upper 80s to near 90, some 15 to 20 degrees above normal for the end of April. While unremarkable by midsummer standards, the humidity was probably noticeable to many of you who were out and about. We’ll continue to see very warm, humid weather ahead of the next cold front set to come through Thursday night. Rain chances gradually increase, especially as the front gets closer.

Through tonight: Clouds are numerous into the evening, and they tend to lower after dark. There could be a couple of showers around, especially after midnight and toward dawn — perhaps a rumble. We might not get below the mid-60s for lows in most spots.

Tomorrow (Thursday): Showers may be around early, but we should end up seeing much of the day be dry. Showers and a storm become more likely again late day and into the evening. Despite partly to mostly cloudy skies, temperatures get into the low and mid-80s for highs.
