Im closely following the situation unfolding north of Montgomery Village involving a small plane badly tangled in power lines. Were all hoping for a safe and sound evacuation of all passengers and emergency responders.

(12,226 posts)The plane was left dangling about 100 feet in the air, according to Pete Piringer with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service. It made it tricky for crews to free the people trapped inside the plane.
Maryland State Police identified the pilot as Patrick Merkle, 65, of Washington, D.C. The passenger is identified as Jan Williams, 66, of Louisiana.

(6,656 posts)My neighbor across the street, who turned 90 yesterday and lives alone, was dependent on oxygen. When another neighbor checked on her, the woman was found unconscious by the kitchen door. Apparently her oxygen supply stopped working when the lights went out.
The neighbor and my husband administered CPR while I called 911.The neighbor's husband came and took over CPR since he was more familiar with it. Fire and rescue crews came quickly and took her to a hospital.
My husband said the paramedics found she still had a weak pulse, but I learned this afternoon that she passed away.
