Prince Georges County police investigate a shooting at Starbucks in Forestville on July 19, 2023. (WTOP/Mike Murillo)
Police in Prince Georges County, Maryland, say they are investigating a shooting at a Starbucks involving the driver of an armored truck.
It happened Wednesday around 2 p.m. in the 3400 block of Donnell Drive in Forestville.
Acting Deputy Chief Zachary OLare said during a news conference that an employee of armored truck company Brinks was on duty at the Starbucks and working behind the counter. Thats when police said a man, who was not an employee of the coffee house, went behind the counter where the armored truck employee was working.
What transpired between the point of that and the armored car driver pulling his weapon, fatally killing the decedent, thats what were investigating right now, OLare said.
OLare did not say whether anyone is in custody, adding that, There are things that are going to be subject to change.

Anything to soften the fact the guy was killed at close range.
Fatally wounded doesn't sound too bad...

Was he working the counter as a starbucks employee? Was he collecting cash as a brinks employee? Was he working on dating a starbucks employee?
Context matters here.
