Authorities: "Possible chemical agent" released during Baltimore Pride festival leaves several injured

BALTIMORE — Several people were injured after a “possible chemical agent” was released during Baltimore's Pride festival Saturday night, according to police.

Authorities say it happened around 8:37p.m. in front of the festival's main stage. Attendees informed officers stationed at the Pride Parade festivities that a possible chemical agent was released into the crowd, potentially mace, hair spray, or another agent.

Police say while that was happening, fireworks were also set off at the location, causing attendees to flee the area and resulting in several people being injured.

The event closed shortly after. The fire department tended to several injuries caused by the mass exodus.
