Setting up a world-class IndyCar race in Boston will take more than simply laying down a 2.25-mile track in the Seaport District its going to require some heavy lifting from the city before and after the Grand Prix of Boston, according to a contract obtained by the Herald.
Boston will be responsible for modifying intersections to allow for straight-line speed and smooth transitions, according to the contract. The city will also have to weld down all manhole covers within the circuit and then unweld them after, the document states.
