Wayne County voters to decide on parks millage, candidates for countywide offices

Wayne County voters will face a lengthy ballot in the Aug. 6 primary, deciding on everything from congressional and state representative candidates to a host of county government positions and the renewal of a park millage, among other issues.

Many local municipal governments have candidates for key offices, including mayor, township supervisors, treasurer and clerk.

Five countywide offices are on the ballot: clerk, prosecutor, sheriff, treasurer and register of deeds. Every incumbent is seeking reelection.

Wayne County Sheriff Raphael Washington faces one Democratic and two Republican challengers. Washington has a lengthy list of endorsements. Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy and Treasurer Eric Sabree are running unopposed.
