Ottawa County voters renew senior millage

OTTAWA COUNTY - A millage to support Ottawa County senior citizens has been renewed.

Grand Haven voters passed the millage by a 77% majority, while Ferrysburg led with 68.2% yes votes. Spring Lake Township voters passed the millage by a 73.1% majority.

The North Ottawa County Council on Aging Millage renewal proposal requested 0.2500 mills ($0.2500 per $1,000 of taxable value) for 10 years, 2025 through 2034.

The funding supports a large portion of the budget to operate the Grand Haven-based Four Pointes Center for Successful Aging that provides a variety of services and programming to seniors in the Tri Cities, which includes Grand Haven, Spring Lake and Ferrysburg.
