Huron County voters approves all millages on primary ballot

The August state primary election for Huron County was full of millages this year for the county, schools and individual townships.

Most of them were renewals, like the county road millage and the Ubly Schools operating millage. Sheridan Township's road mileage was an increase from 1 mill to 3 mills.

"This is renewed every five years and renewed handily by the residents," Huron County Road Commission Secretary and Manager Neal HentSchl said. "It's one of the few millages that is spent directly on primary road improvements. Its not used for equipment or wages. It's a real direct benefit for the residents. The residents of the county have been very supportive of the millage and the county road commission for many years."

The Ubly Schools operating millage passed 398-223, which will allow the school to continue to receive funds for various things like teacher wages, utilities and maintenance at the school
