2 Ottawa County commissioners defeated in Republican primary file as write-in candidates

OTTAWA COUNTY, MI -- Two Ottawa County commissioners who lost in the August Republican primary have filed to run as write-in candidates for the November election.

District 9 Commissioner Roger Belknap and District 1 Commissioner Gretchen Cosby both have filed notifications with the Ottawa County Clerk’s Office.

Their names will not appear on the November ballot, but a voter may write-in the candidates name.

Belknap and Cosby both are affiliated with the ultra-conservative political platform known as Ottawa Impact and took office in January 2023.
