Several ballot proposals to be on November 5 ballot in Berrien County

When Berrien County voters head to the polls on November 5, they’ll be casting ballots in more than just the presidential election, state, and county races. There will also be an assortment of ballot proposals to decide.

Niles Township voters are being asked if marijuana businesses should be allowed to operate in the community. The proposal would allow four establishments and one secure transporter. The marijuana establishments would only be allowed along Eleventh Street south of Fulkerson Road.

Royalton Township will also consider allowing marijuana businesses. If approved, the proposal would allow three growers, three processors, three microbusinesses, three retailers, and zero secure transporters.

The renewal of a city of New Buffalo parks maintenance millage will be on the ballot, along with a city of Niles parks maintenance millage.
