Dozens of Metro Detroit races are on November ballot. Here are some key matchups

Voters across Metro Detroit won't just be deciding the presidential and congressional races but a host of important ballot issues and local races, from county sheriff to township supervisors, that will affect public safety, budget priorities and parks.

Dozens of county commission seats are also up for reelection in Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties, though board leaders in both Macomb and Oakland expect little to change in which party controls each one. Democrats control the commissions in Oakland and Wayne counties, while Republicans have a majority in Macomb.
