With all the turmoil going on, don't forget to return your census form. Every citizen like every vote, counts.

(21,069 posts)After receiving a few threatening notices abt. the crime being committed by not answering THE CENSUS, I finally did it online yesterday.
Then came the ethnicity question.
What race are you (check box).
I checked WHITE.
For my husband I checked WHITE.
Then another box popped up asking what kind of WHITE is he: German, Irish, etc.
I did not write anything in that box.
It is none of their f'n business!
Nosy fuckers!
BTW if you don't write anything in that box that pops up you can move along w/o answering that question.
Why is that there? WHY?
I hate the census!

(26,729 posts)Again, from the Census itself:
In the online questionnaire, if you select a box, but leave the origin fields blank, a message will appear at the top of the screen and the blank field will be highlighted in red. If you do not know this the person's origin, click next again to continue completing your response.
Here's a link to that page

It looks like you can choose to leave that box blank.

(2,949 posts)Don't recall the part about what kind of white. Usually when asked what race my response is "Human". We have to be counted if we want to count.
