TJ Bucholz hospitalized for 'apparent suicide attempt'
THURSDAY, March 25 TJ Bucholz, a Democratic consultant at the center of a sexual harassment scandal at his firm Vanguard Public Affairs, was taken by ambulance to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing this afternoon after an apparent suicide attempt, sources told City Pulse.
A well-placed source confirmed the information tonight. Bucholzs condition is unknown at this time. Officials at the Grand Ledge Police Department confirmed officers were dispatched to near his home in Grand Ledge today but would neither confirm or deny the reported suicide attempt.
Bucholz, 50, is the owner of Vanguard Public Affairs in downtown Lansing. The company does political consulting for mostly Democratic and progressive candidates and issues. Nearly a dozen women came forward this week to paint a picture of a workplace rife with sexual harassment, allegedly perpetrated by Bucholz, as first reported by Chris Savage at Electablog.
Among those alleging inappropriate sexual text messages from Bucholz was Lansing Mayor Andy Schors former campaign manager Chelsea Coffey, who said she confided in Schor that Bucholz was a creep. She also said that she left Vanguard shortly thereafter and took a job with the city.
