Can't say this one comes with much of a plot twist.
A conservative Michigan radio host who reportedly pushed for a "forensic audit" of the 2020 election results said on his radio show that familes should be all white.
The Detroit News reports on "Trucker Randy" Bishop's March 31 comments:
"Can't even watch a college basketball tournament without commercials telling me I have to feel guilty because I think a family should be a White mom, a White dad and White kids," Bishop said. "They want us to die and go away. And they're going to try to do it through politics this year. Well, we have got to be just as smart."
Now here's the slight twist: Bishop, who has previously run for office as a Republican and leads an Antrim County conservative group, is running as a Democrat for state Senate. His 37th District covers portions of the northern lower and upper peninsulas.

(135,848 posts)*Disgusting racist belief systems are not welcome in the Democratic Party and frankly should not be welcome in any political party or community. We will not support his efforts to run for Senate and find it deeply insulting that he would dare to put a D next to his name.'

(1,368 posts)I see a commercial with two parents and two kids. Bishop sees the same commercial. In the commercial, the parents take the kids to soccer practice and band practice.
I don't have kids who go to soccer or band practice, and Bishop probably doesn't, either. I don't feel guilty. Bishop doesn't think that the commercial is telling him that he needs to feel guilty because of that.
In the commercial, the parents drive a mini-van.
I don't drive a mini-van, and Bishop probably doesn't either. I don't feel guilty. Bishop doesn't think that the commercial is telling him that he needs to feel guilty because of that.
In the commercial, the parents cook burgers on a back yard gas grill.
I don't cook burgers on a back yard gas grill, and Bishop may or may not, but I don't feel guilty, and Bishop doesn't think that the commercial is telling him that he needs to feel guilty because of that.
In the commercial, the father takes a pill for ED.
I don't need to take a pill for ED, and perhaps Bishop doesn't need to, and I don't feel guilty, and Bishop doesn't think that the commercial is telling him that he needs to feel guilty because of that.
In the commercial, the father is black and the mother is white.
I'm white, and Bishop is too. I don't feel guilty. But Randy thinks the commercial is telling him that he needs to feel guilty because the father is black. Randy has a severe problem.

(15,032 posts)If that's what you believe about families, you're free to live that way yourself.
But you're aware that biracial families actually exist, correct? So how does seeing a portrayal of them make you feel "guilty"?
I had a black female coworker who didn't like biracial families either, but she also had no right to infringe on the freedoms of others. The difference is that she seemed to realize that she had no control over how other families lived their lives, only her own.
Wishing you the best of luck whenever a homosexual couple is seen, and that you won't somehow feel "guilty" for not having a homosexual relationship too.

His eyes gave it away. This guy is a scumbag. He was licensed as a Real Estate agent in the early '80s. He lived in St. Clair County for years. He fancied himself a builder and took a $50,000 deposit from someone and never built the house. That was his first felony. When he got out of prison, he re-applied for his Real Estate license. At the time, a broker had to sponsor you. That broker was Jake Hewitt. Jake knew Randy was a felon and sponsored him anyway. You cannot be licensed in Michigan with a felony on your record. Jake had been an Earl Keim Realty broker. His father had a franchise and Jake ran the company into the ground after his father died. They ended up in the Remerica system and Jake was selling franchises. When my father's sister who was my first broker decided to semi-retire, Jake and Randy brought in a Remerica franchise and worked out a deal with her to buy her business and rent her building. Within weeks he had locked her out of the building, stopped paying for the business, stopped paying rent, and sued her. He was married at the time and had his mistress working as a receptionist. We ended up hearing from one of his previous clients that she came home one day to find Randy, her agent, in her bed with one of his girlfriends. He wasn't paying the agents and was illegally using a business checking account instead of an escrow account. I had 5 closings that month and had to go to his bank for several days after each closing until there was money in the account and I could cash the checks. As soon as the last one was cashed, I got out of there. He kept a $240,000 vacant property listing I had and shortly after, the property was sold. I told the lady just close it and take the money. Nothing I could do. He closed the business soon after when all of the agents left. Apparently, he then lost his licenses due to lying on his application about being a felon. Months later, I was driving in St. Clair County and saw his Real Estate sign with my aunt's business phone number that he had kept. He was still selling Real Estate-without a license. Two years later, my aunt died of cancer. I really believe the stress of losing the business that she built for 30 years to that loser contributed to her death.
