Keep the public’s attention on the news sources sites. More traffic means more ad revenue. Pollsters like close races because it means more polling (revenue for them).

So part of this is $. But in their defense polling alway was more of an art form. There’s really no way of knowing for sure until you count the votes.

Aside from just wishful thinking, if the MSM puts out messaging that Republicans will win BIG, then that is part of their strategy to discourage Dem voters. Republicans will win anyway, so why bother to vote? It's quite insidious. So even if Republicans do win, you still need to vote. It's not just our right, it's our civic duty. Besides, even if Republicans do win, there's always the next election.

I live in Dallas county TX, which went overwhelming Dem all up and down the ticket. That's really a miracle. Texas is still a long way from turning blue, but the big urban centers of Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and El Paso are now very blue. We just need to do a better job of appealing to rural voters.

But that's not true, nationally they wanted a red wave, not a horse race. I don't understand really, the numbers never showed a red wave, the national polls showed a horse race. There simply wasn't a huge polling edge for Republicans, yet the Red Wave narrative just took off the last couple weeks.

Dems will likely pick up a seat in the Senate and Reps will gain 6 or 7 seats in the House. And you know what, that's what the polls were telling me all along. Dems didn't out perform the polls in most places, it's just that the media was convinced that Republicans were going to out perform the polls by a ton.

They didn't follow the data. The data was telling them to expect about the results that we saw. Hope ore is written about it.
