It's so cold in Minnesota...

How cold is it?

Winter Classic: NHL says even the ice will need to be heated at Target Field with sub-zero temperatures forecast

Wrap up warm if you're heading to Target Field in Minneapolis -- home of MLB's Minnesota Twins -- for the 2022 Winter Classic on Saturday.

The NHL has staged 32 modern outdoor games, but Saturday's match between the Minnesota Wild and the St. Louis Blues maybe the coldest yet, with sub-zero temperatures forecast.

The high temperature on Saturday is only supposed to reach -2 degrees, but it will be even colder when the game begins at 7 p.m. ET with a frozen temperature of -5 and the wind chill hovering around -20 degrees.

And it could go down as the coldest outdoor NHL hockey game in history if those temperatures pan out.

Some nights in the single digits, next weekend, and day time temps below freezing, but not that far below!

I still have no idea how much snow we will get, tonight. Forecasts are ranging from 1-3", all the way to 4-8". Hopefully it's the lesser. Not because I have to go anywhere, but because the snow will block the back door and I'll have to shovel a path clear for the ferals to find their food, if it's much over 3".

I took some trash out to the alley a few minutes ago without putting on a coat, and I did notice some chill in the air. Mr. Cat is sleeping on the front porch on his heated chair, all curled up. I guess fur works.

This has been the warmest Fall and early Winter that I remember. We were remembering the year our daughter was born it was +4 on Christmas day. I would normally expect Frost in early Nov., but none yet. The grass is still green.
