who requires that their staff are vaccinated? I canceled an appointment with Drs. North and Watson because they wouldn't tell me the vaccination status of their staff. Any suggestions?

(11,463 posts)1. Semi-unrelated, but here's what my dental provider's website says
https://www.valleydental.com/covid-19-patient-protocol/
I don't know anything or have any sense about the owners' political leanings. Nor that of my hygienist of well over a decade. I have a cleaning appointment on Feb 16 that I'm thinking of bailing out of.
I checked two other Golden Valley dental providers's websites (Bassett Creek and Centennial Lakes) and they had nothing on this subject (whether providers are vaxxed or not).
Are your providers vaccinated?
As Health Care workers, our providers were one of the first groups to be offered the vaccine. Some of our teams chose to receive the vaccine, while others did not. The choice is up to the providers to decide if they would like to receive the vaccine.
Is the provider that I am seeing vaccinated?
I dont know. Often, our team members are also our patients. We protect their health information just like we protect your health information.
Why cant Valley Dental Group require your teams to be vaccinated?
The vaccines that are currently being used have Emergency Use Authorizations. It is unclear if employers can require employees to be vaccinated or not. Typically, there must be a regulatory mandate or legislative action that would allow us to require our team members to be vaccinated. If the status of the vaccine changes, Valley Dental Group will respond appropriately.

That line about providers sometimes being patients is bullshit. Also the thing about the vaccine being experimental. It all sounds bad.

Their list of services doesn't mention them. I just need a new prescription for glasses.
