(28,361 posts)1. 4" of new snow up in Central, Maine overnight.
Rain froze on the trees, then turned to snow. Looks like winter now, but I doubt it's gonna hold, the ground isn't really frozen very deep.

It was kind of a wintery mix when I went out to feed the ferals.
We've had an unusual amount of rain, this December, with temps in the 40's and low 50's. Very, very odd.

barely, for a couple of weeks, and is now open water on 12/31. We've also been in a long drought. We really need a -lot- of snow to make up for it.

we had one 2" snowfall, and a slight dusting last week. It's been cold... but not anywhere near what it usually is for this time of year. Strange days, indeed.
