The council voted to set minimum pay rates for drivers, and the companies say they can't possibly meet those rates and will leave the city.

I couldn't read the article, as it was behind a paywall.

I understand the plight of the drivers, since I was one of them, but I also know several people who rely on drive share services to get around town.

Fair wage might turn into a loss of their jobs and leaving people stranded.

If that happens, lesser known ride share companies will fill in the gap.
