The city of Zumbrota will vote on the future of the Zumbrota pool on Tuesday
ZUMBROTA, Minn. (KTTC) Residents of Zumbrota will have a big decision to make on the ballot during the August primary.
Bridging ourselves to a New Pool is a volunteer-based organization that is leading the way in the push to bring a new pool for the city of Zumbrota after its original pool, built in 1971, became unusable. Residents will have the chance to vote on this with a referendum question on this years ballot.
The project would cost $4.2 million, with the referendum asking for $3 million from taxpayers. Meg James, the chairperson for the organization, said tax implications will be in the range of $9-$14 per household, per month. A slight decrease from the initial estimations of $17 per month. James said her and the organization have been ramping up their efforts to help inform voters ahead of the primary.
Mostly just getting the word out and informing towns people what the referendum is going to entail, James said. As far as what their cost per month would be, also we attended National Night Out earlier this week and weve been attending the Goodhue County Fair as well.
