MN-HD26A: GOP House candidate from Winona says he's open to an abortion ban at '5 or 6 weeks'

A Republican candidate for the Minnesota House said he believes abortion should be limited, and expressed openness to abortion bans after the 5th or 6th week of pregnancy — before many women know they’re pregnant — according to a recording obtained by the Reformer.

Aaron Repinski is a Winona business owner and city council member running against DFL candidate Sarah Kruger to fill the seat vacated by DFL Rep. Gene Pelowski, an anti-abortion Democrat who retired this year after serving in the Legislature for 38 years.

During a side conversation at a town hall for GOP Senate candidate Royce White, Repinski said there should be stricter limits on abortion. Repinski’s campaign manager said the candidate was unaware he was being recorded.

“I don’t know what the exact time frame is, but there needs to be a compromise and a conversation from both sides, and so maybe it is 5 to 6 weeks — I don’t know,” Repinski said.

That there has to be a compromise and a conversation and then cap it at... any date they say, well I want to just scream at them. How dare they, what is wrong with them that they think they can barter and decide amongst themselves what kind of health care a woman can get, and when she can get it. We are not their fucking property, we are full and free citizens of this country and they have NO right to decide for us what our rights will be.
It's ultimately not really about the abortion. It's about being a free citizen and making our own choices. They want to make us property of the state; they already see us that way, and speak about us that way. It's infuriating.

Making all women breeders, who die if the fetus isn't viable (30% of all pregnancies) and doesn't fully self-abort is their goal. They want desperately poor people who will take any job that pays next to nothing and has no benefits. They want to do away with undocumented workers and make us desperate enough to do the real shit jobs with no health care benefits at all.

At 5 or 6 weeks, there probably would be no signs of pregnancy, no missed period yet. Dr. count the start of the term as the date of the last menstruation, which is totally stupid and wrong and this congressman is a totally uneducated fool.
