Township Elections: Rowan (?) Defeats Chesky (?) in Greenvale; Tie Broken by Lot in Bridgewater

Minnesota township elections were held across the state on Tuesday, including the many townships in the greater Northfield area. The results of those elections were quite close in some races, and not very close at all in others.

Anthony “Tony” Rowan defeated Daniel Chesky II to claim an open seat on the Greenvale Township Board of Supervisors in Tuesday’s election. Rowan tallied 228 votes to Chesky’s 129.

Rowan becomes the newest member on the five-person Greenvale board, replacing Charles Anderson, the current board chair, who did not seek reelection. Greenvale Township is located immediately northwest of Northfield in Dakota County.

Greenvale’s was one of a handful of contested races in nearby townships in the March elections. Thyra Nelson won unopposed as Greenvale’s new town clerk.
