I think that at the end, it was the drip, drip, drip

that we are all too familiar with the DNC and Hillary's email during the two weeks before the elections.

The Republicans were probably behind it, but the fact was that every day, or every other day, another women came with claims against Franken. Even the anonymous ones, they were mentioned.

And Franken was forced to at least acknowledge them. And we don't know how many were in the pipeline, false or not.

And at the end, even if he stayed and waited for the Ethics committee, this would have reduced his effectiveness. We, of course, and many on DU would continue to love and trust him, but he would be damaged. This is the way politics works.

I feel strange to rely on a WSJ editorial against Roy Moore, but what it said that was this was not a court of law where one is innocent until proven guilty, where we need proof. This is politics and the image is important. (OK, the WSJ wanted to defeat Moore because it meant defeating Bannon..)

This is when we have to return to Jimmy Carter who said: "there are many things in life that are not fair" . Not fair, indeed.

And in case anyone wants to argue that the reason was probably that he was no longer going to be in a position of power so why would women continue to come forward--consider that he is still seated and that he signaled he was still planning to use his voice and influence going forward.

I think "drips" is also a good description of his false accusers.

It was all about the Senate.

until they got what they wanted. And we (democrats) should still be fighting ANONYMOUS claims. We have forever been afraid to FIGHT, and I, for one, am so tired of it.

efforts to get to the real truth from his personal friend,Jeff Sessions, for lying to him about meeting with Russian go between. The Rethugs Tee-ed up Roger Stone and we now see the results. As we have seen, the Bull Crap stopped once Al took responsibility knowing it was his call.

He single handedly kicked the Pandora's Box open about the Trump Crime Family. He may have or may have not, screwed up,but he took responsibility. And remember,Trump never admitted or took responsibility for his actions against women.

Never forget this,Al Franken's challenge to a Senate Friend for lying may have just saved our Democracy.
