I haven’t been through my self since the changes a few weeks ago. However an old friend is an airline mechanic there. In late August, they took out a number of security lanes, ostensibly due to understaffing, not construction. Even the airline stuff there are now going through security hell to get to work. How long will it last? No idea.

but I think, hoping, that once summer vacations are over that things have improved. Will have to call the airport, I suppose.

For a father/son weekend. Flying in at around 3 PM, it was fine. On that Tuesday morning at around 8, it was a madhouse. Granted, the Mon night before, the Vikings hosted the Falcons, so that may have caused extra volume.

But, the regular TSA line in Terminal 2, extended the entire front of the inside of the terminal. Thankfully, I have TSA precheck. My son and I were through in about 10 minutes!

At the gate, I checked Twitter to see if I could learn about MSP check-in because I couldn’t believe how bad it was. It seemed like most tweets were taking about an hour without TSA precheck.

Paging back through history, a common complaint was even in the early hours (5-7 AM), wait times could be long.

Until they get through the renovations, it sounds like things will be hosed. Something I read said it would take until the end of the year.

As someone who flies a moderate amount and who hates cutting it close, i’d get there between two and three hours early.

When first started, they were talking 3 hours domestic..

We don't fly much, once a year, sometimes twice. We were lucky in the past few times to get the precheck but I understand that this random drawing is gone. Not worth it for us to pay for a permanent precheck or Clear. Will see.
